I added my site IP at the bottom of PORTALALIAS table. Though i was unable to access my application as the browser taking me to the virtual directory mentioned in the first row of this table. Then i gave my virtual directory details in the first row. It works!!!

Can anybody tell me why this happening to PORTALALIAS table?

Thanks In Advance, Vikiboye

If you installed dotnetnuke into a virtual directory (ie. http://www.domain.com/dotnetnuke/) then any portal alias entry needs to include a reference to that directory.  (ie. http://192.168.1.1/dotnetnuke/).   This is the way DNN works.  When a request comes into a DNN site, DNN takes the url requested and checks to see if any it matches any of the entries in the PortalAlias table.  If it does not, you are redirected to alias of the default portal you have set in Host - Host Settings.

Thanks for ur reply William...

One more doubt im having.

I had hosted my DNN application in my server. I created a virtual directory "DNN" and i pointed it to my application. If i browse the site like www.domain.com/DNN, it works fine.

But my client expects the URL to be typed as www.domain.com instead of www.domain.com/DNN

So i created a new WEBSITE with port no. 80 and pointed my DNN application to this site.

When i tried to access the site, its not at all opening the login page, instead its showing the process is going on.

Kindly help to get rid of this problem.

Thanks In Advance, Vikiboye
