Hi Guys,

I could see this been discussed in earlier threads. In this version of source there are only 3 ascx (viz. Archive, ViewBlog and ViewEntry) under DNN_Blog_Resources.zip. If I compare this with source version 03.03.00, others ascx like Blog, EditBlog etc. ascx are missing for 03.04.00.

Can someone explain why is so?

Note that I am new to DNN and hence I am not sure if this any convention or it is expected that we will have older code base and would use source of later version on the top of it. (In other words is 03.04.00 source release consist of only changed subset?)

Regards,

Shrini

Hmmm... I am not sure what is the standard method. But I copied DNN_Resources.zip contents to DesktopModules, by creating Blog folder. Please let me know where can I get step by step instructions.

Frankly speaking, I tried search setting up Blog module with source, but was out of luck. I would appreciate if you could point me to step by step instructions to work out with setting up module.

Thanks in advance.

Shrini

Hi Sebastian,

Now that worked like charm!! Thanks a ton!

So it made me move one step closer to make changes to blog module. But I also hit another block, which I will try to figure out. Basically, after installing module in DNN install (as per suggestion), I did open blog module project in VS 2005.

I had to convert it to VS 2005 format and then fix DotNetNuke.dll reference in projects. After which I got 0 build errors! Hush!

Now I change something in user control (text for a link), build the module once again. (I could see that it has deployed new DotNetNuke.Blog dll under bin.) But unfortunately does not seem to pick up the changes.

Any clues?

Regards,

Shrini

Note: I hope someone like me, totall newbie, would find this post helpful. Also, could I publish these instructions (extracted from this thread) on my blog?
