Hello,

I have installed the Blog module and am disappointed to find the "More..."  link is done in Javascript preventing search engines following through into the main body of the post.

The DNN Blog here: http://www.dotnetnuke.com/tabid/825/default.aspx  has the  "Read more.."  link done nicely in HTML.

Can someone direct me to how this is achieved ? I cannot use a Blog system that produces links invisible to search engines!

Thanks, John

Search engine spiders can indeed follow JavaScript links.  However your concern is still valid, as the links would have more weight if they were HTML.  I know this isn't an answer, but just an FYI.

Will,

in the Blog module it uses postback links that reload the page - not sure I agree that Google can follow that.

I have yet to find a content management system for DNN that produces 'proper' links. Am still curious to know how the Blog on the DNN site does it (see original post)- anyone know ?

Cheers

John

hmm I can't see any scripted postbacks. They're all proper links on mine and google is happily indexing them. I'm using 03.03.01, which is the version prior to the one on the site here. Check your version, and perhapsdrop a link in so we can see.

On a site I have with a PageRank of 4, I do not have that problem.  While the read more links are Postbacks for mine as well, the blogs are fully indexed.  It is using version 3.03.01.
