Rob, thanks that is excellent advice.

One of the reasons i did not look seriously at Ventrian is the horrendous url structure - for example see above link that Will kindly recommended - "/blog/articletype/articleview/articleid/66/dnn-seo-quickstart-guide.aspx"  where the article appears to be 6 levels down in some kind of hierarchy.

Surely the string "/articletype/articleview/articleid/" is redundant...  does anyone know if this could be regexed out to give a cleaner url ?

Yes.. these long URL's are commonplace in DNN

I suggest asking in the Ventrian.com forums as the developer there, Scott, also does the DNN Friendly URL bits and will know the best answer. I've seen quite a bit if discussion about that. There are also plenty of third party URL rewriters around and a lot of chat about them in the forums here. However for the sake of compatibility and reliability I've been sticking to DNN defaults myself.
