Hi there,

Anyone ,,, how to lock out user in dnn. lockout not authorize or unauthorized user but lockout users.

Hi Asif,

I do not believe there is a UI function to lock out a user.  The user lockout flag is designed to be triggered when a user unsuccessfully logs in within a short period of time, and usually (but not always) has a timeout, after which the flag is automatically cleared.  In this configuration, setting the flag really has little long-term consequence.  If the lockout is permanent, then it really is little different than unauthorizing the user.

You could always set this flag at the database level, or just log in as the user a few times with a bogus password.  Is there a reason that you need to lockout and not unauthorize?

on a varified site unauthorizing the user does not prevent user from logging in. user can provide varification code and log back in again.

only locking out user accounts will prevent them from logging in to site again. i need to provide this feature to site admin so that he can lock user account depending on who need access to site and when. deleting user account is not an option since user may be given access to site at some point later.

in portals with verified registration, you can unauthorize, reset password and change email, inorder to prevent him from regaining access.
