Hi all,

2 Issues

First Issue....

I have a custom developed module.  I have created a custom container skin for this moedule.  The module contains two view controls and one edit control.  The generic view control skins just fine.  When I use the detail view control or the edit control, the site wants to use the the skin specified for the admin container.  Not sure why.  Any help here would be greatly appreciated.

2nd Issue.....

Container titles.  Using the same containers and skins from above, when I hit the edit control, the title for the module shows Edit <ModuleName>.  I was wondering if I can customize this.  I was able to set the detail view title by setting the title in the module def, this did not work for the edit control.

Thanks in advance,
D

1. This is by design, the skin for controls that show by themselves always use the admin skin. That's why you will want to create an admin version of your skin.

2. YOu are on the right track to modify that in the Module Definitions screens. However this can be overridden by the localization file.

First off, thank you for answering.

1. I have created an admin container skin as you suggested, it fixed part of my problems but not the whole thing.  I have hid the actions on the skin, but I continue to get two actions on the actions menu.
  • The first action is a blank action.  The text of the action is blank while the link associated with it appears to be a link back to the current page.  I'd like to get rid of that if I can figure out what's creating it.  If it helps the blank option is using the edit icon, so I am guessing it thinks it's supposed to be editable.
  • The second action is the help action.  I like the help in the upper right but I'd like to lose the help in the action menu itself.
  • I removed the menu from the skin but then I have no option to modify the settings on the control when i want to be the admin.
So what do I want, I want to lose the first option and keep the help on that menu so the settings show up if and when I want to modify the control.

2. This worked perfectly.  Exactly what i was looking for.

Thanks in advance.

I might be able to get an answer for a simpler question. What on the form causes the system to think an action needs to be added to the drop down action list? Does including a specific class or adding a specific element make it think it needs to add that menu?

Just some more thoughts on the subject.

Thanks,
D

The fact that the dropdown menu and where is determined by the [SOLPARTACTIONS] skin object.  However, what shows up in the drop down is not a function of the skin whatsoever.  This is determined by the module itself and can only be controlled via the module's code.
