I just tried to configure the DNN. I want to customize the layout.

1. How can I put a banner besides LOGO?

2. How can I add a clock to show time besides Date?

3. How can I add menu, sub-menu and link to the corresponding pages?

Do I create Pages and then create menu? What is the sequence?

I read http://www.dotnetnuke.com/Products/Development/Forge/ComponentWebControls/tabid/873/Default.aspx

How can I activate the webcontrols to manage the menu?

4. Can I put the search engine in other place?

I'd suggest you download the DotNetNuke documentation package and read through the skinning document. That'll answer most of your questions that you've asked.
