Well at least this is bang up to date and that there will be excellent resource in the near future (often the complaint is that the documentation is too old or does not exist).. Great job Jon.

@alex LMAO - Great zinger for those of us who complain about the docs.

@jon That video did indeed help me at least get started far enough to begin figuring it out. As I have started some of my own videos out there, I might take a crack at documentation for you if I get some time freed up.  Thank you so much for your contributions to DNN.  Is Lorraine looking at documenting this?

Jon,

Your point regarding documentation is understandable.  I'd like to take a stab at working with you to provide the documentation that many developers require.  If your interested please contact me.

Regards,

Jack

@Will - Not sure if lorraine is working on docs for this or not (I'm guessing not).

@John - Not sure what your email is.  Mine is jon.henning@dotnetnuke.com.  If your still interested shoot me an email and we can discuss further.

Timo and I discussed about writing a new skinning doc. The problem I have is that writing updated documentation is where to start. There are two issues:

1. writing docs for the dnn nav 1.x version is not very motivating given the fact that we have dnn5 coming up really soon (just my guess). Moreover this tread explains that one can use 2.0 nav in 4.8:http://www.dotnetnuke.com/Community/Forums/tabid/795/forumid/76/threadid/262592/scope/posts/Default.aspx

2. the excellent video Jon produced is more or less the best documentation you can have (personal opinion). Explaining the 1.x properties / css classes has been done here: http://www.dotnetnuke.com/LinkClick.aspx?fileticket=vCjeodeg5pk%3d&tabid=478&mid=857. together with the original skinning document: http://www.dotnetnuke.com/LinkClick.aspx?fileticket=2ptHepzmuFA%3d&tabid=478&mid=857 should provide anyone with css experience ample information.

So what to do?

Probably the best approach would be to have at least a document where all the resources are mentioned plus a consise summary of the nav 2.0 possibilites Jon explains in his video.

I guess now there are probably 100 or so posts answering the same questions over and over...

just my two cents.
