hi all,

i have two things i need to try to address

i just tried to get the blog modules going by creating a new page > installing blog module. and i think i understand how the blog thing works (functionality wise). i wanted to put one of the 5 components of the blog module (i am calling it recent blogs enries) on to the homepage. so what i have done was just copy the component from the blog page into hte home page.

the thing is that it shows up just fine, but will not show any new recent entries that a standard user makes. i created a standard user, made a new blog root for it and made blog entries, but that entry has not shown up in the ... recent blog posts.. or did i misscontstrue the purpose of the recent blog container?

and the second question. as above, i created a new standard user and a new blog page with all the blog containers (5 in total). however, only the admin blog entry is showing up, even though i posted a new entry as a standard user. i guess i am asking is how does one default .. the show my blog ... onto hte home page rather than just the link that goes to it? i hope that made sense

if it does not, i will try and clarify

cheers

I'm guessing that your mistake was to *copy* it.  I think you need to *refer* to the original.  I don't have the page in front of me, but I recall that when you do this you can choose to copy or to reference.

OTOH - I am no expert here so I'll be happy to get corrected.

HTH

Hi Chuck,

You should be able to acheive your aims using the Blog modules. Check out the Blog set-up and use info under Working with Modules > Available Modules > Blog. If the answers you need aren't there please post again and I will answer further and update the help resources accordingly.
