Hi,

I want to use media module for my cms using DOTNETNUKE (version DotNetNuke_04.08.02). But I want some different behaviour than the current.

I want to stream the media file. For that i have asp.net server control & using that I want to stream media file. OR Is there any workaround available with current media

module.

If YES/NO How to achieve it?

What should I do to change it?

I have open source Media module (Media_03.02.03_Source) but which has so many errors. Can I get the error free source of media module. Where is it available?

Please give me solution!!!!!!!!!

Thanks

Varsha

The current media module solution, is written in asp .net 1.1.  So in order to modify it you must use vs 2003.

Hi,

I followed the following procedure to open Media_03.02.03_Source.

I downloaded Media_03.02.03_Source from dotnetnuke website.

Extract Zip-> I got Media_03.02.03_Source which contains *.SqlDataProvider, DNN_Media.dnn & editmedia.ascx & mediamodule.ascx & DNN_Media_Source.zip file

I exatracted  DNN_Media_Source.zip file which contains DotNetNuke.Media.vb project file.

I opened it into VS 2003.

Then Dotnetnuke.dll , editmedia.ascx & mediamodule.ascx are not found & other 102 errors.

What should I do to remove these errors. Is it anything wrong in my procedure to open media module.

Please give me solution.

Thanks

Varsha

I opened the project in VS 2003. But there are dotnetnuke.dll

for development, you need a running DNN 3.3.7 portal on your local machine. Install media source package shall plae all modules where expected. check the solution file for web references matching your current installation and open the media.sln in VS2003. Check the dotnetnuke references and if necessary, adjust to dotnetnuke.dll in \bin folder.

Hello,

Just wondering since the last release of the Media Module was over 2 years ago, written to a framework which is quickly if not already considered obsolete and obviously should not fully support existing technology... whether there is a reason why developing this module has become so inactive.

Is it because the original coders couldn't continue to commit? Lack of demand? Some other reason?

BTW - Some might find it interesting that a project at Codeplex wraps the SWFobject (which was created by Google's Summer of Code)inside a DNN module. I'm exploring now what its capabilities are.

Thx,

Tony
