We have integrated your events module into our live web site and a few limitations are causing us serious problems:-

1. Need to see the Full Name of the person enrolled for an event in the Enrolled Users (Enrollment Settings), not just their first name - This is a BIG problem
2. Need to be able to EASILY display a list of people attending an event. At the moment it's buried right down in the enrollment settings.
3. Need to be able to assign an email address to an event (event organiser), and either on request or on a schedule, have the list of people attending that event emailed to the event organiser.

It would be great if these enhancementscould be implemented urgently, as they are really causing us major grief.

Please note that 'your' events module does not seem fit to me, it is a module of the DNN comunnity, and being open source anyone is invited to contribute

1. Need to see the Full Name of the person enrolled for an event in the Enrolled Users (Enrollment Settings), not just their first name - This is a BIG problem

What is in the screen is the DISPLAY name of the logged in user, not the first name (unless you have filled the display name to first name)

2. Need to be able to EASILY display a list of people attending an event. At the moment it's buried right down in the enrollment settings.
This is not possible currently, but noted as an enhancement for a future release, see EVT-7227.[/QUOTE]

3. Need to be able to assign an email address to an event (event organiser), and either on request or on a schedule, have the list of people attending that event emailed to the event organiser.
This is also noted as an enhancement, e.g.see EVT-7537

It would be great if these enhancementscould be implemented urgently, as they are really causing us major grief.

In an open source environment where things progress based upon free time people are willing to donate, timing is difficult, if not impossible, to predict.

Thanks for your reply.

The DISPLAY name is most often just their FIRST name.  If we have an event with 2 Chris's attending, I wouldn't have a clue who they were from a database that may have 1000 Chris's.  This needs more configuration options, like allow admin to configure to use any combination of (a) Display Name (b) First Name (c) Last Name.  This would help a lot.

If this is open source, can I modify the module and apply all of the above enhancements and then send it back to you for inclusion in the official version?

I understand your need. Display name can be changed to anything you like, that can even be done by the user him/herself. Or you can write an SQL query (used from the SQL option of the Host menu) to update the display name in the Users table, such as:

update {databaseOwner}{objectQualifier}Users
set DisplayName=Firstname + ' ' + LastName

Please note that this will touch ALL users in the database, so multi-portal this might not be a solution. Advice: try this in a test environment before doing it in a production site!

Source of the Events module can be downloaded for all who are interested, please follow this link. Remark from my side: the Events module is a fairly complex module in which a number of years history of various developers can be found. Not bad, just the way it is.

As for source donations: always and more than welcome. I cannot give you 100% garantuee that it will be included in  the next version, it depends (of course) on the quality and applicability for general use. As for enrollments: there are a number of issues (request/suggestions made in Gemini for improving it, so your changes might fill in a gap..
