To drive traffic to a new DNN site we are doing a mail campaign and assigning receipients unique URL or query strings that contain their name. Example http://www.newdnnsite.com/john.Doe

The landing page then would be the same base page but personalized for each visitor based on the variable of their supplied name as part of url or a query string. Any way to accomplish this with DNN?

Hi,

I'm new to DNN and not sure if this is a good idea, but you can try it:

Create your landing page: mysite.com/landingpages/one.aspx.

Then use DNNs url rewriting, or other one to rewrite your link from mysite.com/promotion.aspx?recipient=1 to your landing page (/landingpages/one.aspx).
This will always show the same page under the link promotions.aspx?recepient=XYZ and at the same time you'll have full log of visited pages in Site Log.

Prepare&Send links to recepients.

Use Site Log (or just SQL) to analyse links that contain /promotion.aspx?recepient=XYZ
Just make sure you have Site Log enabled. Solution is far from perfect, but should do the job.

Regards,
Dmitriy.
