Hi,

Is it possible to merge 2 DNN db's?  Here's why I ask,

We currently have a "live" DNN site and a "QA" dnn site that we use for development.   The QA site has now been fully developed and setup, and contains lots of data that we do not want to re-crete on our "live" site, instead, we want to replace the Live site with our QA site simply by changing the IIS paths.  The problem that we face is that on the Live site there are lots of registered users in the db that are not in the QA site's db.

So, ultimatley, all I need to do is update the QA site's db with the lives site's user details from it's db.  Is this possible? and if so which tables should be copied?  I'm guessing aspnet_membership, users, user roles are the obvious ones? are there any less obvious tables that also need to be replicated?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Regards

Julian

Julian,

the merge as you plan might be possible, but there is no automation or framework support except of module export (on QA site) and import on the other DNN instance.

Hi Sebastian,

Thanks for your reply, I did some searching on snowcovered in the mean time, and found a few modules that allows me to import users, one of which I already own ;D

sometimes I just like to make life difficult for myself   :-D
