Hi Everyone,

I have the following problem with DNN version 7.04 installed on Windows 2003 Server. In IE7 the DNN site works as expected until you click a link to play any one of the videos. The selected video will proceed to download and play in WMP within IE7, following this however, none of the hyperlinks to other areas within the site work i.e. the site is effectively frozen. To re-enable the site again you have to restart IE.

This problem first came to light when Microsoft released KB947864 (
Cumulative security update for IE7 for XP). There does however appear to be some ambiguity – when I remove the update from machines on which the incident has occurred, the problem has been resolved and the site behaves normally again. I have since tried a freshly built XP machine, fully updated including the KB above, and site has also functioned properly! It would therefore appear that the KB is conflicting with another piece of software.

I’m aware that there are things I haven’t tried yet such us updating to the latest version of DNN, but if anyone has had a similar incident or could perhaps shed any further light on this I’d be grateful.
