You can set application pool an app runs under in IIS. I can only go by IIS7 for Vista as I don't have a W2k8 server but they're similar. If you click on your DNN install in IIS and look at the far right site of the window you should see a link to "Basic Settings". Click on that. In the Window that pops up you should see Application Pool with whichever pool it's running under and a Select button beside it. I'm willing to bet that it's running under the DefaultAppPool which the AD Provider has issues with. You should've gotten an error message under the settings that it was running under the wrong pool. If you didn't let me know and I'll check it out. Anyways, if it's running under the DefaultAppPool click on the Select button and changed it to the ClassicAppPool in the drop down.

You were correct. I have set it to run under the classicAppPool now. So now that's taken care of. I am still getting the error in the authentication tab. I can log in with either my AD or DNN credentials tho.

Which error? The original one or the one that says you have to run IIS7 in Classic mode?

And you still have impersonation turned on in your web.config right? You didn't comment it out sometime this morning?
