Windows authentication may be installable for your version of vista. I have only used a home edition once however. Check Control Panel\Programs and Features Click turn on or off windows features. scroll down in list to internet information services, expand WWW services, expand security and see what you have available.

ThnX for ur rply. i searched control panel but there is no windows authentication component to configure. at leatst help me how to configure local iis web server in VS2008 express for compiled module development.
