I'm converting a static site (www.segmedica.com) to dnn (www.hammetttech.net) and I think I've missed something as far as the whole skinning concept. 

I'm using 1 skin and 1 container for the entire site.  But I just can't get how to create a skin and container where the container would begin immediately below the menu bar - I always end up with some white space that dnn seems to reserve for the various controls only visible when in admin mode.

The front page on the static site is where I'm trying to get to. The green and white graphic begin directly below the menu bar. 

Should this be easy and am I missing something?

BTW, I'm using Visual Web Dev Express 2008 to build the skin

You are better off using something like Dreamweaver to do this. Download some of my free skins and try and see how it is done. Your background needs to end at the bottom with the same colour as it bigins on top to look like the original site.

So there's no reason a container can't be vetically aligned in the content pane such that it is touching the bottom of the menu? 

DNN keeps pushing the container down a quater inch or so no matter what I do. It seems to be for the editing controls.

It must be some problem with the skin or container, normally it shouldn't be a problem to have the container just below the menu
