Version: DNN: 04.08.04

Skin:
Standard version of DNN-Blue - Horizontal Menu -Full Width

Container:
Standard version of DNN-Blue - Text Header - Color Background

Hello.

I have an odd issue. In Internet Explorer the standard layout of the Dnn-Blue template works great. In Firefox or Safari the layout of the links modules is screwy as you can see below:

Internet Explorer Safari/Firefox
IE Firefox Shot

The only thing I can think of is that I removed the HR tags from the links module as I wanted a seamless flow down the lefthand column.

Is this a known problem with DNN standard skins at the moment?

Thanks for any advice.

Liam

It looks like you've fixed it on the site? I've just been and checked in FF and IE and it looks good.

I appreciate the reply, thanks.

Actually I don't see how you could have checked, as it is only on my local drive! Hmm actually there is a test area here (might need a minute to power up):

I am basing the style on:

Thanks again - I really am rather stuck. Actually to be honest I'm quite disturbed too as DNN always prided itself on being compliant I thought, and I'm coming across a lot of compliance issues now. I guess a lot of them are those xhtml compliance errors explained elsewhere.

I said previously that I removed HR tags, but that was from the main container template. I haven't touched the base media or links modules.

Thank you for any assistance.

Liam

ok, I just looked where your images were hosted, saw what looked to be the same skin as in the pictures so I assumed that must be it... I've just now noticed it's a php site.

hmm. I've had a look but I can't really tell what's going on... it looks as if the divs with those links are being squished out to the side. I'd have to see your skin to be able to help further.

Liam, I don't think anybody ever stated that the default Blue skin is compliant in any way.

Browser problems like this are generally caused by HTML problems / the doctype
(and can be very frustrating).

Does it work correctly if you re-add the HR in FF? sorry misread

BTW, this seems to work:

.leftpane table{

clear:both;

}

But it's not clear to me why the links table floats.

(it normally doesn't)
