I still am unable to get this to work. I actually downloaded/installed web developer 2005 express and tried using the starter kit within it and I still get all the errors. Am I to install the install package prior to trying to use the starter kit? Or, can I simply install vs 2005 or vs web developer 2005 express and then the starter kit and start programming modules for dotnetnuke? Maybe I am missing a step since it cannot find any of the files required in the starter kit. Where should I see these files on my hard drive? Again, maybe I am needing to install the install package prior to the starter kit? I would prefer to just use visual web developer 2005 express and sql server 2005 express to program dotnetnuke modules since it seems the easiest to develop under. Help! *grin*. I have no clue how to fix this situation. Thanks for any feedback!

Hi, did you ever get the starter kit working?  I am having the same problem you are having and cant seem to find any helpful information on resolving the issue anywhere.

I am sorry to report that the solution to this problem I was having was to format my computer and reinstall everything. The root of the problem was that I had previously installed visual studio 2005 beta products on the computer and this was causing the problem. After hours of research, and even after running the visual studio 2005 beta clean utility from Microsoft and then uninstalling/reinstalling vs 2005 professional, the problem still existed. After formatting and reinstalling vs 2005 I now can use the dnn 4.9 starter kit with no problems. It properly builds the vs 2005 solution and it works fine now. I tracked this down by testing the 4.9 dnn starter kit on another computer that did not have the vs 2005 betas on it and it worked fine. Hopefully noone else has this problem! but I wanted to post the solution for any future readers.
