Hi guys!

This is my first post here. But I'm not a total newbie to dnn. You have to excuse my poor English.
Anyhow...

Most of the tutorial I’ve found has been from the view of MS-SQL2005 Express. If they touched the full version the most it said was it is a similar installation.

These where my problems:
1. ‘Under construction page’ appeared under installation of DNN.
2. The script installation just looped and looped.
3. No access to the installation files.
4. Some of the views in the database couldn't create. (in e.g. dbo.vw_tabs). One or more of the SqlDataProviders displayed error but not all of them.

Fortunally I work at a place that hosts big databases. And a colleague of mine took a look at my problems.

These are some explanation of my issues:
1. It is a bug, just try (the localhost or your choice to place it) again and it works.
2. Either I didn't create a SA (server administrator) account when I installed the server or I didn't create the database as the SA and used the windows authentication.
3. I had to add both the ASP.NET and the NETWORK user to the security where I created website catalog. Some tutorials say just one or the other.
4. This was due to installation choice. Do NOT choose Binary or case sensitive. When you create the database choose your preferred language and CI AI (e.g. Swedish_CI_AI) it stands for Case Insensitive and Accent Insensitive.

This solved my problems.

And as my friend said: The scripts that create the tables and views in the database are not written consistently. So when it tries to create (e.g. dbo.vw_tabs and calls a column called ID_Portal it is not the same as Id_portal) views and they are case sensitive it can't find it.

I reinstalled MS sql 2005 used mixed authentication, unchecked binary and case sensitive. When I created the database I didn't used the default collaration but used the Finnish_Swedish_CI_AI.
And it works like a dream.

Regards
Johan
