There used to be a DNN website project group - just like the core module projects - with a lead and volunteer project members.  Or at least a lead.

Don't know what happened to it but IMHO I'd say it needs to come back.

DotNetNuke.com is maintained by the webmasters from DotNetNuke Corp. I am not aware of any website group.

Commercial sites can pay someone to do the job, volunteer sites can't always get qualified dedicated volunteers.

Exactly! So my question is. Can DNN afford to be a primarily a volunteer site? No doubt that volunteers should always be a big part of a project like this, but at some point it gets too big for volunteers to do alone. Is there an in between that can leverage the best of both worlds without the problems inheirant in either?

Although many of the people on the projects teams are volunteers, the employees of DotNetNuke Corporation are not.  They get paychecks for doing their just like the rest of us do.

I will admit that sometimes it's hard to send potential clients to this site because of the out of date content, examples and overall quirkiness. The video demonstration is from DNN 3.0. The site is a good resource overall, it just needs a little polish
