Hi,

I am new to Dotntenuke. I have created website using DNN 4.8.0. I have installed Announcement module on my website.

In settings of the module, I have selected allow syndicate option. So It displays Syndicate symbol, but on clicking on that symbol it doesn't open the rss feed.Instead it just refreshes the page.

I have news module on the same website and rss feed for new is working fine, but for some unknown reason rss feed for announcement module doesn't work.

I tried to create rss feed for normal text/html module, but in that as well it opens up my webpage in popup window instead of rss feeds.

I really need to solve this issue as soon as possible. I tried a lot to figure out what is going on, but no answer...

Please help me to solve this puzzle....

Thanks

the RSS feature of Announcements module uses the core RSS feature, which in turn uses the core search engine to populate rss items. This means that you need to have the core search indexer enabled otherwise rss won't work

Shame that after a month(?) that nobody got back to you.

I was having a problem of the RSS feed not updating, probably what you're experiencing.

Here ya go, oh this wont start the search engine, should already be running. You can test this theory out by searching for something on your site. Make it something old, then search for something that you added maybe last week. If found all is good. If not, maybe somebody has ideas on how to turn it on.

Here we go:

  1. Log in under your host account
  2. Under Host click Search Admin
  3. Click Re-Index Content

Hopefully that gets your RSS gizmo to work.

Oh, also under the Host menu is Schedule. Not sure which item it might be, but check to see if your SearchEngineSceduler is enabled and see what its settings are.

Hope that helps as well.
