I am using the forums 3.20

I just can't figure out how to make a post with an attachment

The attachment uploaded perfectly to the server, but there is no button in the GUI to add a link to the attachment in my post??

I really don't get it :s

How are my users suppossed to link a file :s

In the actual post, your users would have to be allowed to upload files with your text editor.  The forums let users upload attachments, which are displayed directly beneath their post.  Others can click to download.

To do this you'll first have to allow attachments. This setting is found in Forum Administration > General Settings > Post Attachments.

You can allow attachments as well as set the upload folder, specify max size and extensions.  Any user who is allowed to post can then upload an attachment.

Well the attachments do not show up underneath the post, that's for shure.

I was just asking if attachments were supposed to show up somewhere

I am getting the feeling I found yet ANOTHER bug with the forum module on DNN4.02. Brings up the question, why did nobody test all these features before releasing the module. (Or what is going on with DNN4 and not being compatible with DNN3) In good spirit of open source I'll be commenting on the issue as soon as I find the time figuring this bug out. I am trying to not complain but this is the THIRD bug related to attachments I find wich is not documented or acknowledged to exists in 4 days.

Even though others might think otherwise, I still see dnn 4 as a beta release. If you want to run a live site with dnn, you should consider useing dnn 3 instead. You can be sure an upgrade path to 4 is available, and you won't get all the problems ....

cheers,

Erik
