Hello

I am a new to DNN but not to cms. Searched this forum too no avail. To confirm is a tab a page in dnn context?  All the discussion of a tab is driving me mad eg in a module install I read " Install the module as other dnn modules. Add it into a tab. If you want to popup an existing module, the popup module should be in the same page."

So if a tab is a page why is it called a tab ?

Confused! I am.

Thanks

Paul

Hi Paul,

You are correct -- page and tab are synonymous, and both terms are used interchangeably in the various documentation floating around.  Tab is a legacy term left over from the early days of DNN.  I'd love to see it depreciated as well!

Based on certain horizontal menu displays, where the menu item looks like it is a folder tab sticking up ... click on the tab and go to a new page.

It was unfortunate ever to use the term as meaning page but it is deeply embedded. The table in the database that holds page definitions is "tabs" and cetera.
