Hi!

I´m trying to assign more than one group to new users in only one step. My problem is the following:

New users have to be sorted in category one oder two. Depending on this selection they have to get different subgroups. Example: A new user is manually assigned to category one. Additionally the user shall be member of the groups "newsletter one" and "information one". How can I achieve this in one step?

Any ideas?

Next problem: I´ve seen, that there is no possibility to rename groupnames. How can I easily change over all users of group "old one" to "new one"?

Thanks in advance!

You can't change this through DNN.  If you know some SQL you could do all of this really easily, including changing a roles name.

Great, SQL is no problem.

Do I have to be afraid of data corruption through changing only the groupname?

Michael,

I am not 100% sure, but I don't think you need to worry about data corruption, just in case make a backup of the db.  There might be some third party module that tries to poll a Role name, but all of the Roles have a RoleID that is the primary key so you should be able to change away.

You are going to be looking at the Roles table and UserRoles, which maps a UserID to a role.
