I have a site running under DNN 4.7 with SQL 2000. I am interested in getting ActiveForums 4.0 on there and it requires SQL 2005. How much of a pain is it to migrate from one to another? Does anyone have a walkthrough? I have loads of third party modules on the site. Will it destroy them?

thanks,

Will Sugg

The best you can do is test, but you should be able to use the Copy Database Wizard to make the move.  Change connection strings of course.

2005 supports 2000 databases so you shouldn't have any problems. When I've done this in the past, I've simply detached the database from 2000 and copied over the files into my 2005 instance. Then upon re-attaching the databases, everything worked as normal.
Sebastian can chime in but I'm pretty sure there isn't any syntax in 2000 which was dropped in 2005 so your custom modules should be fine too...
