Is there a way to get DNN to send the admin/host an email when a new user registers and the Security Settings|User Registration is set to Private (email is sent to admin to authorize user).  I would like to have an email to be poked/prodded when a user registers instead of having to always check (have DNN do most of the work).

Thanks.

You can't do this out of the box.

If you can program a bit, you could modify the DNN Authentication provider and make this hapen.  It wouldn't have to be an upgrade breaking change.

I'm a little lost here so let me make sure I read this right. You want the admin to be sent an email notifying him that a user has registered when the site is set to Private registration. This way he knows to go in and authorize the user is this correct?

This should be the way it's happening now. I just tested with a Private site and as the admin I received an email that a new user had registered. Is there something else that I'm missing in your post?

And Stuart, you trying to set the record for the most posts answered in a day? Keep up the good work buddy.

Mike,

I thought he was just referring to any general registration.  Which then he would have to modify the provider.

With the olympics on, I am at the computer alot more than normal so answering DNN post is a nice way to get through commercials.

Also Mike, the new providers are awesome, I love them.   Already modified your AD provider a bit ;) and I built a limited Novell provider.

SO YOU KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK!

This happens by default, as long as your SMTP settings are correct.

The e-mail will be sent to the e-mail of the account set in the following field:

Admin --> Site Settings --> Advanced Settings --> Other Settings --> Administrator
