I have a 4.8 DNN web and would like to use the Human friendly url setting. In web.config I have the following:

                  type="DotNetNuke.Services.Url.FriendlyUrl.DNNFriendlyUrlProvider, DotNetNuke.HttpModules"
                            includePageName="true"
                            regexMatch="[^a-zA-Z0-9 _-]" urlformat="HumanFriendly" />

I still get the "regular" friendly urls but not the Human friendly. It seems like this entire section is ignored by DNN. Can anybody tell me what could be causing this?

I think the web.config is case sensitive, so if it's not urlformat then it probably won't work. (Notice the capital F)

I have created a new fresh DNN install to do some testing. I installed DNN 4.8.4. After install I add the HumanFrienldy tag(urlformat="HumanFriendly") to the web.config and the url's are indeed human friendly.  If I then install a language pack the friendly urls are no longer working and I get the search friendly url's. It looks like the language querystring may be causing the url rewrite to fail.

Can anybody confirm the Human Friendly option does not work once your DNN web has more than 1 active locales?

yes, i'm having the same problem. I deactivated the checkbox for add the language in the querystring and now it works... but if the portal has checked this option in languages then the friendly url's don't work...

I've the same troubles, but If I deactivate hte checkbox it works but I think in a non seo way because I've one links for two pages, each for each languages. For eg.:

Whitout FUrls, for two languages:

www.mysite.com/Products/tabid/143/language/en-US/Default.aspx

www.mysite.com/Products/tabid/143/language/de-DE/Default.aspx

With FUrls and Checkbox not checked, even for two languages:

www.mysite.com/Products.aspx

In this case I've one link for two pages (one for the language of the browser)...I think that is not good for SEO, in terms that I don't be able to index both pages and choose the language to index

Second: If you click on the Flag to change the languages the redirect is on the No Furls format.

Any suggestions?

Thanks

Enzo
