New Community Website

Ordinarily, you'd be at the right spot, but we've recently launched a brand new community website... For the community, by the community.

Yay... Take Me to the Community!

Welcome to the DNN Community Forums, your preferred source of online community support for all things related to DNN.
In order to participate you must be a registered DNNizen

1. The DNN source  zip file unzips into a series of web application folders.  The starter kit zip file unzips into a series of further zip files.  Do I need to manually unzip all of these zipped files under the starter kit?  If so, do I put them all in the same folders?

2. Is it possible to create DNN apps with both the DNN source files (in VS 2005) and the DNN starter kit (VWD) on the same box or must I choose a single development mode?

you do not need DNN source to develop DNN modules or skins

you can develop DNN modules in Web Site Project format using VWD 2005 and the starter kit, which includes templates for all module types

you can develop DNN modules in Web Application Project format using VS 2005 SP1, VS2008 or VWD2008 SP1 and the starter kit, which includes templates for all module types or without starter kit, check out dotnetnuke.adefwebserver.com
