hi everyone ,

 

i have visual web developer 2008 beta edition and i have sql express installed on my laptop, i hve made ome pages using the DNN starter kit , and i want to upload it, i have my own network lap , so basicall y i want to upload the website to the iis server and put the database on a sql server (two diferent physical servers), but i am havng problems and eerrors all the time .

 

can someone help me with it step by step with a example please that would be perfect and helpful .

Make sure you put the database server name in the connection string of the DNN site. For instance:

connectionString="Server=SERVERNAME;Database=DNN1;uid=USER123;pwd=PWD123;"

you may need to use the IP address as the server name if the NET BIOS name doesn't work. And make sure that you use credentials that can connect to the database (SA or other)
