I've created a pretty basic map using the map module (which is pretty cool - thanks for creating and offering it!).

However, when I request a page that includes a map, there is a gray bar below the map that says, "Fetching..."

Any tips on what this is, why it's happening, and how to remove it? I'm relatively new to embedding maps but my concern is that site viewers will wonder what's still loading in this view...

Any help would be great.

thanks, Jeff

OK... anyone out there??? Sorry if this is a very basic question but I just haven't been able to find a solution after searching/hunting.

Any help would be much appreciated

Thanks,

- Jeff

My guess would be that this has to do with not having data points in your settings for the map. I'm really new to this module as well, so I can't offer a ton of help. As for getting no responses, that seems to be the norm. I have asked four separate questions and got no response to any of them. Looks like if you're not using it for the most basic function, then you're on your own to figure it out from there.

Hey Jamie-

Thanks for your response on this. (BTW - looks like the "Notification" option isn't functional either... hence why I'm only responding to you now!).

It appears as you've stated (re: the project and response). Kind of a bummer. While I realize the challenges of communities, volunteerism, etc., some predictable involvement from folks would be nice. It appears to be all over the map (pun may be intended, I suppose).

Re: the technical issue: I DO have one data point and it's rendering. So, I'm not exactly sure what this could be. At some point (hesitantly, BTW), I'm starting to think that just using the GoogleAPI directly may be more productive. Less overhead and predictable behavior and dev support.

To be clear, I'm a huge fan of DNN. However, it would be great to get a little more predictability in just basic support.

Thanks again for your response - much appreciated.

- Jeff

Hey Jeff,

In case you still have the problem with the gray bar with "fetching...",

- Edit Map
- Data Source
- Standard Data Points
- Save
