I've been doing some load testing with WAPT on my site as well as analyzing it with Firebug on Firefox.

The site appears to behave well and load everything properly except I see a 404 error on each page due to one or more references to the spacer.gif image. Some of them are references correctly and load, but some pages have a path to the image that does not exist:

http://PortalName/TabName/tabid/54/spacer.gif

Has anyone else had issues related to this? I'd like to get rid of the slew of 404 errors returned when load testing... and errors that occur when users are browsing. I expect over 4000 users in production.

HHi Kellie,

Are you testing with 4.8.4?  I believe a spacer.gif issue was corrected in this version (although it may have been for 4.9), and I wonder if it might not have been corrected... incorrectly. 

If you could identify the page in which the issue is occurring, and then the module, it would be much easier to target the exact source of the problem.  I am not otherwise aware of any erroneous spacer.gif reference.

Correction is for 4.9RC1, so you likely won't have seen it yet (and it therefore would not be causing the issue you described).  Ignore that part of my discussion :)

I am indeed using 4.8.4. The error occurs only when the reference is the root folder just like the work item describes.

Any news on the release timeline of 4.9RC1? I see the DNN website is currently running it.
