I found a table called PortalAlias

and saw that it had a value of localhost/portal in the HTTPAlias field. I changed it to www.mydomain.com/portal like my other dotnetnuke website and now firefox is giving me this message:

Redirect Loop

Firefox has detected that the server is redirecting the request for this address in a way that will never complete.

Do I seem stressed? :o)

In my continued effort to freak out publicly in the DotNetNuke forum, here is my lastest error. I restarted the app by reloading web.config. Then I got the following error:

http://www.fleetsweep.com/portal/Default.aspx?tabid=36&error=Could+not+find+a+part+of+the+path+%27D%3a\hshome\bradmorris\fleetsweep.com\portal\App_GlobalResources\Locales.xml%27.&content=0

I had published this website using visual studio 2008. I tried to copy the App_GlobalResources directory to the hosting provider and got this next:

Server Error in '/portal' Application.
The directory '/portal/App_GlobalResources/' is not allowed because the application is precompiled.

I have 2 years worth of intellectual property that I do not want exposed. I have converted them all to modules and have them working in DotNetNuke.

I cannot allow this code to be exposed without it being compiled and protected. Visual Studio is obviously not publishing correctly. For instance the Locales.xml file in the App_GlobalResources directory is not being properly published causing the above error.

I have spent the past 6 weeks converting my aspx pages to modules costing me thousands of dollars. Not being able to compile this code and protect my investment is an absolute show stopper for me.

Can someone please explain to me how to do this. Are there tutorials? I have read 4 or 5 books on DotNetNuke, invested a lot of time learning how to use the framework and I don't want all that effort wasted but I need to get this working...

How do I do that?

thanks

Nick
