I have a site, one main portal, two sub portals. On the main site, the mode bar at the top is showing (View/Edit) even when not logged in.

I seem to remember someone having a quick fix for this, anyone?

Site is at:  http://www.mylec.com

TIA

Hi Ed,

I have not seen this behavior before with DNN.  What version of DNN are you running?  What are your server configurations (windows, iis, and .net versions etc)?

FYI This post is not in the correct forum and will most probubly be moved by a forum moderator.

I just finished an upgrade from 5.0.1 to 5.1.1, and for the most part, I believe it was successful, except for one thing, kinda major thing…

ince the upgrade, when a Visitor goes to my site, they are now seeing the Mode bar at the top, with both Edit and View buttons!

I have tried the following, per other Forum thread suggestions…

  • I have closed and re-opened (IE 8/FF3.5.1): No Luck…
  • I have deleted the browser cache and cookies: No Luck…
  • I have tried on a different machine (IE 8 again) : No Luck…
  • Checked Page and Module settings for Edit capability for “All Users” : No Luck…
  • Tried changing Admin > Site Settings -> Advanced Settings -> Control Panel Security -> switched from Module Editors to Page Editors: No Luck…
  • Changed the Cache Time (secs): to 0 (Module > Pages Settings) for each module: No Luck…

>This seems also be happening when I add a simple, blank page (w/Default HTML module)!

Admin > Pages > Add New Page
   Page Name: Mode View Test
   Parent Page: <None Specified>
   Page Template: Default
   Permissions:
      Administrators: View/Edit
      All Users: View
   Copy From Page: <None Specified>
Pages Settings > Cache Time (sec): 0

Anyone have any thoughts or ideas?

Andrew
