I'm trying to install DNN 4.08.04. When I reached the step where it runs the database installation scripts, I see the following:

Installing Database - Version 4.4.0...Upgrading Database to Version ERROR: See d:\domains\Brasstacks.pk\wwwroot\brasstacks\Providers\DataProviders\SqlDataProvider\04.04.00.log for more information...Success
undefined...Success

undefined...Success

undefined...Success

undefined...Success

undefined...Success

The refresh seems to continue indefinitely for many hours now, and the "undefined...Success" lines are now reaching 29000.... ? I'm sure there aren't as many database items that need to be installed.

What can I do here? Install an older version? Install the database manually? Has anyone else encountered this?

Asif

there is an issue in your installation, there shall be no "undefined" at all.

stopp the process, clear the database, verify all permisssions and restart installation process.

Is there a simple way to clear the database when working with a remotely hosted server?

I am sorry to say, that there is not, the simpliest option usually is to drop and recreate the db.

Hmmm.

I saw that Install.aspx had an option to run scripts.  I guess a clever person could figure out how to run the right sql commands.

I wound up getting microsoft's web da tool.  I blew away my dnn files and pushed it up.  Then using my database login, I was able to get to the db and methodically clear out the contents.  It was a bit painful.  Dropping and recreating the database would have been faster.

Regards,

Steve
