Hi All

Now I am developing DotNetNuke site in localhost.  My machines IP address is 192.168.169.8 and the virtual directory for my site is dnn.  So for my
site, address is http://192.168.169.8/dnn. As DotNetNuke supports multiple portals. Firstly I have tried child portals. I have added a new portal
192.168.169.8/dnn/lake. Here a site is created with default menu. Its portal id is assigned  1. I can add new page.

Secondly I have tried parent portals. I have added a new portal  192.168.169.8/city. Here also a portal id (2) is created.  But no site(i.e with home, admin menu )  is created. It creates a blank page. How to add  pages in this parent  portal?

Thnaks & Regards.

To confirm you are saying your PortalAlias for your parent portal is 192.168.169.8/city?  Or is this what you want it to be?

Hi Stuart
Yes, my PortalAliases for parent portal is 192.168.169.8/city.  But when I am clicking that link , a blank page  ( i.e. The page cannot be found. ....  ) opens.  So I cannot add any page.

Is IIS configured to point 192.168.169.8/City to the website 192.168.169.8/DNN?

Hi Stuart

I have windows XP. I have installed DotNetNuke in the folder F:\dotnetnuke. Then I have created a virtual directory dnn and mapped it to that folder.
For  my default website, I have two Portal Aliases - i) localhost/dnn (default) ii)192.168.169.8/dnn ( I have added, so that I can see my page from other machine).
Now I did not get your question - Is IIS configured to point 192.168.169.8/City to the website 192.168.169.8/DNN?  192.168.169.8/DNN is added for default website. Why will I map it to 192.168.169.8/City ?
Secondly when I have created the child portal lake,  a new folder lake,   is created  under F:\dotnetnuke and there is a file Default.aspx. But for parent portal city, nothing is created. Even I cannot enter into the page entering the userid and password , which I have made during partent portal creation.
