Thank you for taking the time to address these issues?

I have checked the application restarts in the eventlog and it does not shut down on our servers due to inactivity (our servers are busy all the time), unless we restart the app pool manually or; we have noticed that when ever an editor of the site adds a new folder in thier documents directory (we use cute editor) then it forces ALL servers to app restart.

That said, I have noticed that when I force and app pool restart it seems to trigger the lastpolldate to be updated with the current time and date. (this is not always true, and sometimes takes up to 10 mins for it to be updated after the app pool restarts). So it seems that an app pool restart is not what is causing the lastpolldate field to stop updating, if anything it helps it resart updating.

I still have not found in the code where the update for the lastpolldate gets called from. Any ideas where the that gets updated from would be helpfull.

Also we never see any records in the cachedObjects table. Is that normal? It seems like that table should be getting populated with objects that can be cached and shared by all servers.

Thanks again.

One more symptom to add to the list. we are seeing the EventLog table fill up (by fill up I mean it gets to big to fast and the scheduled task to do the clean up times out and fails) and bring the site to a halt.  The schedule exception we get says...

I am not sure if this is a cause or a result of the broadcast polling issues we are still experiencing with the lastpoll date field getting stuck and not updating.

Thanks for any help you can give, thanks.

Brad,

Did you get it to work?

It has been working for 3 or 4 days now. I think it may have something to do with the change we made to the DotNetNuke.Services.Scheduling.PurgeScheduleHistory, DOTNETNUKE. We changed the frequency from once a day to once an hour. This seems to keep the schedule history table small and not get bogged down, which may have been contirbuting to the failure of the DotNetNuke.Services.Cache.BroadcastPollingCachingProvider.Poll, DotNetNuke.Caching.BroadcastPollingCachingProvider. At this point we are not sure what caused the failure for sure, but it does seem to be related to the scheduled tasks. For now we are happy as long as it keeps running.

Thanks again for all your help.
