Hey all,

I need help in creating an internal news feed. I see that most modules can be set to syndicate, but how to pull that info into the News Feeds module? Or, do you have to use the XML module for that? There seems to be TONS of conflicting and confusing information that doesn't really give any clear answers.

I would appreciate any help I could get. I have a news site that needs to go up and this is a big issue for me right now. I was hoping to sydnicate the articles module and the forum. I just need a simple answer or at least a starting point. Any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks,

Beth Vest

Beth,

You can use the News module for this and it is pretty straight forward.  http://www.dotnetnuke.com/Products/Development/Forge/ModuleNews/tabid/847/Default.aspx

In the most recent release of the news module, I am finding that it simply asks for a URL and doesn't allow one to just pick a file. In the settings area, you can pick a file, but the list won't populate so I can't choose anything.

I appreciate your help, but I have been trying all sorts of things to make this work and it just wont go. Maybe I am just not getting it, but if someone could give me a clue how to make it work, that would be great.

I am syndicating the module I need to pull from, then creating an rss file and trying to call that up. I would choose the file from the list in the news module, but as I said, the list won't populate. It almost worked qhen I just entered the full URL to the file on my  but it told me my rss file had errors. Since the module generates it, I can't imagine why. Thanks for any help.

Beth,

I am by no means an expert with the news module.  However you can head over to the News forum and they are.  http://www.dotnetnuke.com/Community/Forums/tabid/795/forumid/48/scope/threads/Default.aspx
