I'm, creating a new page(tab) from SQL Serve using T-SQL and I execute following procedures using valid parameters to add new page:

EXEC AddTab
EXEC AddTabPermission
EXEC UpdateTabOrder
EXEC AddTabModule

On some portals the new page is visible immidately but on some portals I need to restart application to make the new page visible.
Does anyone know why is that and what is the solution?

We do not recommend making calls directly to the database through SPROC calls since we don't guarantee compatibility between versions for the database stored procedures.  As for the problem you are experiencing.  We heavily cache certain data within the system in order to improve performance, Tabs are one of those areas.  If you add the tab using the business layer methods, the cache will automatically be updated.  If you choose to make the changes at the database level then it is up to you to refresh the cache when you are done with your changes.

Thanks Joe for a quick answer.

Is there any way to refresh cache from the database using T-SQL (stored procedure or something)?

Thanks again for your help.
