Hey all,

I'm doing my first skinning and I am stuck. I've read up on some books and still can't find the answer. I'm trying to remove the padding on the left of the Left Content Pane (highlighted in red). The purple is the Left Content Pane when I have it set to background color Purple, but I can't seem to get it to have no padding on the left side. If the red wasn't highlighting, it displays the page's white background. What function/command should I be using to remove the spacing issue?

Any help at all would be appreciated.

Hi Sorwah,

If I were in your shoes, I would use the "element click" option available in the IE developer toolbar (or the Firefox equivelent) to check exactly why this padding is ocurring.

If you could provide a live link to an instance of your skin, it is likely that you would quickly receive a solution to your problem.

Hi Brandon, thanks for the input. What is the "Element click" option?

Here's the current working site with the skin:

Here was a CSS template I was working on before I decided to start using DNN. It is the layout design I'm shooting for:

Thanks for your help!

Hi Sorwah,

Using the IE dev toolbar, the option I was referring to may be located under the Find->Select Element by Click menu option.

It appears that the TABLE that contains your toppane (class="toppane DNNEmptyPane") has the attribute cellpadding="3" that is causing the padding problem you outlined.  Removing this attribute seemed to correct the problem.

Thanks Brandon,

I do not have the IE dev toolbar, where can I find more information on this?

Thanks for finding the issue, it seems to be repaired. There is one other thing I have a question about (and don't want to create a new thread), but is there anyway to remove the "Print" options area for the module? The area that looks like the module is double the space? I can remove the options in that field, but I can't remove the field.
