We are using DNN for our corporate intranet.  Periodically, all module content from random pages will disappear (the page headers and footers remain).  If I log in as Host (for some reason, Admin has lost editing privileges) and look at the page, its modules still appear empty.  If I then make some change - add a new module, for example - all of the missing content suddenly reappears.  This is a major concern for us, as we are considering DNN for our corporate website as well.  Can anyone help?

Check the "mode" at the top left of the page, you might be in Design mode, switch to Edit or View

You might also see if your modules are set to a different visibility than the pages. Example: page set to be viewed by security role 1, 2 and admin. Module set to be viewed by sec. role 2 and admin = any user listed under security role 1 would see the page but not the modules, sec role 2 and admin would see everything normally.

Edit: actually after re-reading your post never mind mine, you wouldn't see 'empty' modules, just a blank content area. Previous post seems more likely.

Hi Dr. Prune,

I have seen this issue occur before due to bugs in the DotNetNuke caching subsystem.  Please make sure that you are running the latest version of DotNetNuke (4.8.4).  Also, when 4.9.0 eventually comes out, I would recommend upgrading to that as well since that fixes a couple caching issues too.

Always glad to help,

Tony V.

We are at 4.8.4 now.  Per a previous reply, all modules are set to inherit view permissions from the page, which is set for all users.  It does sound like caching may be the problem, because periodically I'll get an email saying "the Intranet home page is blank" or some other page is blank.  Again, it's the module content and containers that have seemingly vanished, not the page headers and footers.
