I think this issue has been notified for a long time. But after I check the SQL script in the install package 4.8.4. I found this issue still not fixed yet.

The solution is just out there but after several years, DNN still need end users to modify DB to fix this issue!! (Just need change the = to like comapre.)

I am not sure core team really know what happend?

The serarch function in DNN is not work for Chinese word!! I think this also happened in other language that are not using space to separate words...

Can you image a end user need to modify DB directly to fix this issue?

Maybe core team really need to paid attentaion on some basic function. There are some basic problem of DNN are blocking users to use DNN. I really see many users they give up DNN(Even they already bought a lot of commerial module) finally. Most user's reason is the performance issue I think..

Dear Sebastian,

There are some link talk about this, but most of them are written in Chinese, but there are some others point out similar issues.

http://www.innovatasites.com/ecktwo/tabid/1808/Default.aspx

http://www.effority.net/Tutorials/WildcardSearch/tabid/71/Default.aspx

This most important point is Chinese word is not separate by space so search would not work using = to be the search criteria.

Maybe one thing also core team doesn't know. The friendly url used currently is using page's name as part of the URL. But in general, Chinese will name their pages by Chinese, then the URL will contain Chinese word. In some case, this URL will cause page not found!! (If the page name contains some special word, this issue always happened!! This issue can be resolved by disable friendly URL in host setting. I don't know what is the root cause of this issue. I met this issue a lot of times when I using Xmod to build my site. ) But I feel that the Chinese word in the URL can help SEO result so I prefer not disable friendly URL by default(But disable in page level is a good option).
