Hi all,

This is an ongoing issue for me and I've just realised that it might actually be a bug.

When a module is added to a page, it seems entirely logical that it should use the Module Friendly name in the module title. It doesn't, and instead, some other name drawn from who-knows-where is used. In most cases the name used is something meaningless that the developer has made up for their own purposes.

I previously thought that is something the module developer has to do right and that most simply didn't follow correct procedure, but the core modules also do it, so maybe it's a bug or other issue. In any case, it serves no value as it is and it should really use the friendly name.

I'll add this to Gemini unless someone has other ideas or comments?

I've just had a brainwave that would fix this issue in the short term!

If I could make the title field in the icon bar a required field, then people adding modules would be forced to enter a title and the goofy titles would never be displayed.

Does anyone know how to make an asp:textbox field required?... bearing in mind that I'm ascx hack, not a vb programmer.

alrighty... my weak attempts to validate the field failed, but I've had another idea..

I've added Text="Title Required" and also fore and back colours and a tooltip to the textbox:

That's a reasonably effective hack, but I'm still keen to hear any means of validating the field.
