Ok I'm a newbee.   However I have run a few totorials.  I have several books one that I started to follow is Professional DotNetNuke 4... So I went to the site wizard and found the only template to be dotnetnuke.... So I'd like to know how to correct that, and also how to or where to place additional templates from the web... thanks

Current DNN 4.x version do just contain one default DNN tempalte "DotNetNuke".

You can find the DNN tempalte in internet and put the .tempalte and .template.resource file at Portals\_default folder, then you will see other tempalte options.

Worked perfect!  Thanks.  The problem I had was I was trying to put them in the "template" directory under "Portals\_default"
