Thanks to great answers from this forum I have learned how to remove some fields, make some fields required, and make others visable when users register.  However, when the registration form comes up there are fields in the section Preffered User Information that are not controlled in the manage user profile area.  I want to remove display name.  I have searched the forum and did not find an answer, so I hope you can help me.

Hello Judy

The Display Name is a mandatory field you cannot remove it as there should be something to display when the user logged in to the site.

If you want to remove it from skin you can edit the skin.

If you want to remove it from the registration form.Go to the UserAccounts.Take User Settings. In the Display Name format enter [FIRSTNAME].You can check the help ? for more.
