Hi,

I'm trying to move a DNN site from my server (windows 2003) to another hosting company's server (Windows 2008).  I asked them to give the ASP.NET worker process full control, and they responded with:

"The application pool user has modify permissions to the root of your site."

however, I'm still getting the following error:

Unauthorized Access Error

Error Details

File \\farm1.adhost.lan\live_inetpub\wwwroot\host2008\xxxx.domainname.co\Portals\_default\\Logs\LogFailures.xml.resources
Error   Access to the path '\\farm1.adhost.lan\live_inetpub\wwwroot\host2008\xxx.domainname.com\Portals\_default\Logs\LogFailures.xml.resources' is denied. The Windows User Account listed below must have Read/Write Privileges to this path.

The current version of DNN is a bit old, 04.03.04.  Any ideas as to what could be wrong?

Thanks in Advance,

Mike

that path is a UNC path (the \\), which means your user needs permissions on another machine i.e. seperate from the webserver. It might just be easier for you to update your web.config to use the database based logger rather than the xml file based one i.e. open web.config and change the logging node to look like this

<logging
    defaultProvider="DBLoggingProvider">

Thanks for your help.  The file should be in the same place as the rest of the DNN files; I FTP'd them from a working instance to the new host, had them restore a DB backup and modified web.config to point to the new database.  But when I remove the XML logging provider line (the DB logging line was already there), the site does work, so I guess I don't need it.

However, the site load EXTREMELY slowly, more than a minute or two to load the home page, and even on subsequent page requests where the images are cached in the browser, it takes 30 seconds.   The same site on my server is very fast.  Hopefully Adhost can figure this out...

Thanks,
Mike
