Hey Everybody

I get the following error when installing DNN

Server Error in '/DotNetNuke' Application.

Configuration Error

Description: An error occurred during the processing of a configuration file required to service this request. Please review the specific error details below and modify your configuration file appropriately.

Parser Error Message: An error occurred loading a configuration file: Access to the path 'C:\Inetpub\wwwroot\DotNetNuke\web.config' is denied.

Source Error:

Source File: C:\Inetpub\wwwroot\DotNetNuke\web.config    Line: 0


Version Information: Microsoft .NET Framework Version:2.0.50727.42; ASP.NET Version:2.0.50727.42

This is the first thing that pops-up after coping files

WinXP

IIS 5

SQL Server 2005

 

Not my first DNN instalation but it is my first time with DNN 4.09.00

The key your looking for is in this line: Access to the path 'C:\Inetpub\wwwroot\DotNetNuke\web.config' is denied.

That tells me that permissions are not set correctly.

You (ech01) where right it was a security permission that was not correct. Thanks for the advice.

Just to help other I will give a basic action list how I fixed my problem

 

1. Select DotNetNuke Folder and right click on "Properties"

2. Select Security Tag and press Advance button

3. In Premissions tab selected the "Replace permission entries"

4. Applied it and wham the it goes

 

Thank eck01 for giving me direction to my problem.
