hi all,

i am using window.open() in C# aspx.cs the code works fine in ie6,mozilla but in ie7 and ie8 new window opens but it closes within 1 second.

here is my code.

Page.RegisterStartupScript("pop1", "<SCRIPT Language='javascript' >window.open('" + url + "','mywindow');</SCRIPT>");

Is there any coding problem or browser ,please give some ideas regarding this.

Thanks
hivshi

That's strange.  Probably not a solution necessarily, but you should be using XHTML compliant code (so script should be lowercase, the single quotes should be double quotes -- use escape sequences in C# \" to get it so language=\"javascript\", same with \"mywindow\".

Wondering if you have some sort of popup blocker in IE7/8 that is a little slow in reacting (or possibly an error that occurs only in IE7/8 which forces the window closed because of the "sandboxing").
