Does that also include not being able to get to any pages regardless of what link (except the login link) I click?

Where do I recycle the app pool?

I'm not sure about that. It sounded as if your site wasn't recycling and that you were able to solve the problem by restarting the app. If it was only happening 2-3 times a week, then it sounds like the site was otherwsie not being restarted and that would cause menu itmes to vanish like that. I've read this in the forums and there was a Gemini ticket about it as well.

I don't know if it affects the other links... my guess would be no, but I can't say for sure, but in any case, getting the application pool to recycle at the appropriate time is part and parcel of tuning applications to run in IIS.

You won't be able to do this if you're on a shared host, unless they have create a pool just for your DNN instance. If you know it has its own application pool then ask for it to be set to recycle daily at the same time. Or if you're running the server yourself, then you'll find the settings in IIS Manager in the properties of the Application pool concerned.

All of this will only be the real solution if this was in fact the issue. I'm a little unsure of that... the decider is knowing whether the app was ever recycling by itself, or if it was just sitting there until you restarted the application separately.

Here is a screen shot of the event viewer:

http://www.sanzone.net/eventlog-dotnetnuke.gif

it will just happen when soneone is using the site making pages or changes to the pages.

Something has to be done. Am I being hacked? and if so... what can I do?

That doesn't look too bad. I only see one restart in what looks like 12 hours or so. Are you saying the whole website actually locked up and you had to recycle the application pool in IS manager on the server, or did you just sign in and click on Restart Application on the Host Settings page.

Also, what is in those general exceptions. If those are just more of those errors with "DECLARE... soemthign" in them then don't worry about those.

If they have something else in them, then what was in the last one before you signed in as host.

After I sign in and try to get to the settings or any admin page I get this:

Index was outside the bounds of the array.

I am going to update the web.config to restart the application.

------------ in the past ------------

As for the restart, that was me signing in cause the site would not go to any page created. And when I signed in as Host I did not see the admin drop down only the host dropdown.
