I am having a hard time resolving an issue with the ajax modal popup extender.  When I add it to my page, I get this error:

Generation of designer file failed: Unable to create type 'ajaxToolkit:ModalPopupExtender'. Could not load file or assembly 'System.Web.Extensions, Version=1.0.61025.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=31bf3856ad364e35' or one of its dependencies. The system cannot find the file specified. 

It does not add it to the designer code and causes problems at run time when I manually add the extender definition to the designer file.  I have the System.Web.Extensions added to my project.  The dll has been copied to my bin directory and I have tried using all caps in the assembly in the web.config file.  I have gotten it to work in other projects using similar code, so what am I missing with this?

Please make sure to add a reference to "systam.web.extensions" dll , putting that dll in the bin folder is not suffecient so make sure to add a refernce to it.

Also make sure you installed asp.net Ajax extensions .

I did both of those things and it works on other projects within the same solution.  I'm not sure what the issue is.
